Yerbol Myrzabossynov Awarded World Taekwondo Champion Aiyм Serikbayeva

The Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerbol Myrzabossynov, met with the winners and medalists of the World Junior Taekwondo (WT) Championships held in Tashkent.

The head of the ministry congratulated the athletes on their successful performance, emphasizing that their achievements strengthen Kazakhstan’s reputation on the international stage.

The main highlight of the tournament was the victory of Aiyм Serikbayeva, an athlete of The Martial Arts Palace named after Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov of The Republican State Enterprise "Olympic training center by types of wrestling". She won the gold medal and became the world junior champion. This achievement is of particular significance, as the last time a representative of Kazakhstan in this age category became a world champion was in 2006 — Zhalgas Bekkasymov. In addition, Serikbayeva was named the best athlete of the tournament.

Bronze medals were also won by athletes of The Martial Arts Palace named after Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov of The Republican State Enterprise "Olympic training center by types of wrestling": Yerasyl Yerzat, Islam Medetbay, Alidar Abdikarimov, and Adilet Sheri.

Following the meeting, the athletes and coaches were awarded honorary certificates and letters of appreciation on behalf of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the Kazakhstan Taekwondo Federation.
